ALPUJARREÑO DISH
The Alpujarreño dish is served in La Alpujarra, both in Granada and Almeria. This well-known dish combines the most typical products of the area such as poor man’s potatoes, black pudding, Orce loin, sausage, Serrano ham, and fried eggs. All these form a mixture of flavors that make this dish a unique way to experience Alpujarra’s gastronomy.
PIONONO
To finish, the dessert, as usual. The Pionono of Santa Fe is the most well-known dessert of Granada. Its creator was Ceferino Isla González and he made this dessert in honor of Pope Pius IX. It consists of two parts: a thin cylindrical sponge cake, with the base of the cake soaked in a very sweet liquid, and with toasted cream both inside and on top of the cake. It is recommended that the pionono is eaten in one or two bites.
