The light and clarity, along with its grandeur, provide the world with the importance of the city at that historic time.

Charming alleyways

Albaycín at 900 m

Albaycín is one of the essential places in Granada. You cannot be in this Andalusian city and not stroll through this Moorish neighborhood, a World Heritage Site since 1984.
It began to populate in the Iberian period, and there was dispersed Roman settlement. There are no data on Islamic settlement before the arrival of the Berber Zirids, so it is assumed that the city was abandoned from the end of the Roman empire until the foundation of the Zirid kingdom (1013) which was when it was surrounded by walls (Alcazaba Cadima).
